Personality: Axl strikes everyone as an extremely friendly, though rather oblivious person. And the observer would be right. With few exceptions, Axl tries to strike up at least a friendly acquaintance with anyone he meets, even if they have no interest in socializing. He’s honest to a fault and tends to speak without thinking, which can end up with either accidentally insulting the other person, or letting information slip that he really should keep to himself (such as a personal information about the person when from their perspective, this is the first time they met). Even with accidental insults, and weirdness, his cheerful honesty is enough to allow characters who otherwise tolerate very little bullshit to put up with him.

If he meets someone that is a woman of age - regardless of her marital status, he will flirt around and openly comment on how attractive he finds them. He means well, but sometimes comes off as a creepy and often ends up being startled when the women object to his flirting – with a kick to the head. However, none of his flirting is really all that serious, while he has a high appreciation of women, he is quite loyal to his girlfriend Megumi – in fact, she is his primary motivation for returning back to his own time line.

He's an eternal optimist; no matter how bad things get for him, he never gives up. He assumes things will work out in the end, so he just continues to more or less mosey on wherever he finds himself until either he hears of someone that knows about time travel, or he gets thrown somewhere else in time. As a consequence of his decision to live in the present, he tends to not be very proactive about anything and ends up stumbling into trouble that a more alert man would’ve avoided. While it is easy to assume that his lack of planning is a sign of idiocy, it’s actually due to an intellectual laziness – he would rather just wing it then think ahead. If forced to, he can calmly assess the situation and solve problems that arise.

There is an important thing to note, despite the fact he is a good fighter who had spent three years in a post-apocalyptic future - Axl strongly abhors violence. While he enjoys the occasional spar, he would only fight seriously to defend someone else or - quite common due to his no brain-mouth filter - in self defense. And no matter how vile his opponent is, he would flat out refuse to kill them and would stop anyone who would try to 'finish the job'.

First Person: [Some rather ghastly horse teeth filled the screen before pulling back to the grinning face of Axl who looked like he just had a good idea]

Heeeeey! So guys, there’s no one here right? Well, has anyone considered checking the backrooms of the bars? So I was thinking… a good scotch would really hit the spot. And if the people left as suddenly, they’d wouldn’t have taken their alcohol with them.

How about we do a little beer run, knock back a couple pints, a few rounds of billiards and just relax – some of you guys really need it.
